embracing change: my journey in spain

the leap into the unknown

moving to a new country is a bold step, filled with excitement and uncertainty. when I arrived in spain, it felt like standing at the edge of a diving board, looking down into a pool of possibility and challenge. my heart raced in anticipation, wondering what adventures awaited me. it was exhilarating and terrifying all at once.

finding freedom in solitude

being alone in a foreign country has its ups and downs. on one hand, it’s liberating—no one to answer to but myself. on the other, those moments of loneliness can feel suffocating. from surfing the waves on the coast to volunteering with local charities, i discovered that even in solitude, there’s so much to learn and experience. and yes, crying occasionally is part of that journey; it’s how we process.

discovering friendships and self

it’s amazing how moving away forces you to reevaluate your relationships and what you truly want from life. making new friends in cafes, at the beach, or during spontaneous trips to edinburgh and morocco reminded me of the warmth that exists in shared experiences. some friendships bloomed, while others faded, mirroring my journey of self-discovery along the way. it’s messy, it’s real, and that’s the beauty of it all.
